i shade it as black as i can using a pencil, but when i scan it in theres bound to be some random artifacts, so i just turned up the contrast a bit in MS paint! lol

Seriously it is a pretty nice work. Rarely seen such detail.

If you want some critics :
Do not take it personnal, since you did an amazing work, but I noticed some flaws or perhaps it is the scanning, but:
-His lips, bottom on his left. It look liek they have been dragged the other way. Perhaps they aren'T perfectly centered.
-His left eye looks some what weirdly placed. Like the angle was not the right one.

These are little flaws or perhaps theyr are only optical effects, but take care of perfectly placing faces parts. A single third of millimeters and the drawing can be fuc**d up.

Just very used to watch specific spots; my teachers tend to critic a lot all works, it makes you get better and also give you tricks to critic yourself and other the same way.

Continue, you are near perfection. Don't get an arrow on your heel before you reached your victory!

I actually saw that myself. I shaded the top of the lip too dark, and it seems like the mouth is a bit crooked
I am trying to move from pencil to digital art now, but I will keep working on my penciling skills too!
